Water is one of the six Essential Nutrients that are necessary for energy and materials for life building processes in the human body. Thus, the term essential nutrients. We know drinking water is important however, many of us become confused on how much water to drink daily.

Water is essential to health. The question becomes is how much water to drink daily. We know Water regulates several body processes. Water regulates body temperature, helps in transporting oxygen and nutrients to the cells, eliminates waste product and toxins. If the human body has less than 50 percent water, you will suffer from dehydration which can be profoundly serious. The daily requirement of water for one individual differs depending upon various factors. How much water to drink daily varies but on average one should drink around 6 glasses of water per day.

Dehydration can be a real problem as you may become dehydrated without you being aware.  I came across an excellent article on dehydration. If you think you are not getting enough water, these tips may help:

  • Carry a water bottle for easy access when you are at work of running errands.
  • Freeze some freezer safe water bottles. Take one with you for ice-cold water all day long.
